Dopo un periodo di forte contaminazione con sonorità elettroniche più sperimentali, si è assistito a un ritorno alle radici: groove caldi, influenze soul e jazz, e una rinnovata attenzione alla qualità delle produzioni. Le etichette indipendenti continuano a guidare la ricerca sonora, mentre i veterani del genere si affiancano a nuovi talenti, creando un panorama ricco e variegato che abbraccia deep house, afro-house e sfumature più raw e underground.
Marcel Vogel e Tim Jules aprono la selezione con Just Because (Remixes), un viaggio tra ritmi organici e vibrazioni soulful. Vick Lavender, con il suo Beyond LP, conferma la raffinatezza del suono Chicago, mentre Flying Moth e Rawb Boss esplorano territori deep e afro-house, quest’ultimo con il marchio Yoruba che resta sinonimo di qualità.
